HP designed its 12-inch Elite x2 convertible pad of paper with notebook computer-class huskiness in mind, and it mostly succeeds. But patc it offers seriously solid competition for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, a couple of features lag short of the bar.

Pen, peripherals, and connectivity

Though the Selected x2 lacks what many equalize with Windows Hello—surface recognition—H.P. added a fingerprint reader on the rear of the tab. Scene up and using fingerprint recognition mimics Howdy's surface identification: Pick a finger, swipe information technology over the reader single times to establish a saintly reference image, and you'Re goody-goody to go. Differently, the Elect x2 is part of the new propagation of USB-C tablets, with the USB-C port combining Bolt of lightning and USB 3.1 capabilities for both charging and docking. How it performs

HP's Elite x2 competes well with the early crop of convertible tablets, which cater a compelling argument that they make up the incoming loop of mobile productivity—smartphones aside, that is. The Elect x2 is passively cooled, and all that aluminum dissipates heat superbly. One question we always ask, though, is how long will it last? HP's Elite group x2 performed well in our battery life test, iteration a high-definition video for 7 hours, 4 minutes until the battery terminated.
